McKenzie Construction Corporation is committed to the principles of sustainable design and construction in an effort to improve its carbon footprint and better the environment through stewardship. “Going Green” has certainly become the mantra of our modern society and our firm, through its membership in the U.S. Green Building Council, has dedicated itself to their goals and principles. The Council has developed Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) as a third party certification program for promoting the various levels of sustainability in building construction. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality

McKenzie Construction has completed several LEED certified buildings and currently has several others under construction. As a part of the Green Building process, it is important for our firm to maintain a staff of LEED Accredited Professionals to implement and manage the program. These individuals are certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and monitor each LEED project from ground breaking through ribbon cutting
